If you have never touched a knitting machine before, this is the workshop for you. We will be learning the very basics from setting up a machine to making our first simple shape including cast on, knitting, and casting off.
We will be knitting on bulky gauge machines which I will provide, along with enough acrylic yarn to practice on and also to complete our first simple project.
By the end of this afternoon you will be ready to start the Beginner level classes which will be offered beginning in September.
There will be one scholarship seat available at this workshop for those experiencing financial hardship. If you would like to be considered for the seat please email me at impressedknot@gmail.com and simply request the scholarship seat, no explanation necessary. If there are multiple requests, all names will be put in lottery and the recipient drawn at random and notified by email on August 24th.
ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: The space is on the ground floor and accessible, but there is a small lip and two relatively heavy doors with no door opener on the route to the bathroom. I am happy to show you around the space before the workshop (either in person or remotely via video call) to assess if this is navigable for any mobility issues.
